A documentary about drugs was played during an assembly for Red Ribbon Week. A detective and some of the school’s police officers answered questions after the documentary ended.

The documentary, Chasing the Dragon, warned kids about opioids by showing them how drugs like heroin have impacted addicts’ lives. Students reported it being an emotional documentary, and, in some parts, it was difficult to watch.

“I could barely watch the documentary because I was trying not to cry, ” said sophomore Paine Copeland. “I know someone who went through something like this and it brought back some memories.”
