Are schools too strict on dress code?(Editorial)

Schools today have been cracking down on what their students can and can’t wear. Some things that some students wear can be a little inappropriate. I can understand why crop tops, too-short skirts, dresses, shorts, and inappropriate writings can be a violation of the dress code. But I do not understand why leggings are not allowed. Whats the difference between leggings and today’s skinny jeans. They both hug the body, one is just stretchier than the other. I also believe that schools that do not allow their students to express themselves in an appropriate way should also consider how they are keeping students from being themselves. Some schools do not allow certain hair dye colors and have a no bandana/ head wrap policy. I believe that is completely unnecessary. Schools should really consider how strict they are being on what the students are wearing.
